May 30: In response to a lower court approval of the City of Houston settlement with plaintiffs, West Street Recovery, who, this week, filed an amicus brief in the legal case against the city, stated:

May 29: Mayor Whitmire relied on a closed-room deal with two men in a city of 2.3 million, to subvert the will of voters and delay life-saving infrastructure investments. Our Amicus Brief lays out that this deal is something that every person who pays taxes in Houston, every person who’s impacted by flooding, has a stake in.
NAC and WSR have been trying for years to convince the city to correct course, to no avail. The city has not responded to media coverage and widespread public pressure. This legal action is the next tool in our toolbox.
